The Common Store

 

The Common Store is a project we undertook to build a little place where we could sell the things we find and make. Our first product was born out of a frustration with local vintage art – or lack thereof. Finally, we stumbled across some beautiful lithographs depicting the different suburbs of Sydney in the 1880s.

With the help of the City of Sydney Archives, we negotiated a license for the maps, gave them a facelift and built a fully functioning e-commerce solution – in 4 days.

After just 8 days we’d recovered all costs and the store continues to generate revenue.
